I know, we have a serious Spam problem, but Akismet sucks. It sometimes prevents me from postings just because of silly things like links labeled with "here" etc.
Please disabled it. Use Captchas and honey pot fields for the registration, disable submissions of articles with links for users with less then 10 postings, maybe even enable Akismet for them, but please let us normal users post here without any stupid blacklist filters.
What is this link about? Like yesteryear, there will be a Linux Advent calendar on my Blog refining-linux.org. The first article will be published on December 1st. So for all people being interested in some command line fu, this might be some decent reading material for the cold December days.
MLyrics (this one causes an Error at start up, but then works as it should after) (something about not finding NetUtils.jsm(Someone else can fix that)): http://www.mediafire.com/?1blmvr95f2587pm
Hi... i'm new here and i would like to help fixing some bugs... first of all.. in which programming language is Nightingale built? and what program can i use to detect bugs..? I've already use pylint in some other projects... please excuse me if i'm a lost with this info... but i really want to help developing Nightingale... Thanks
First of all I know the poll for the logo is already done. Second I like the logo chosen (nice job Downward). But I just thought I would give you some nightingale icons I drew up. I'm not very good with gimp (or any image editing software for that matter) so be gentle. You are free to edit them all you want. If you make some cool icons based on mine i'd love to see them. hope you like them.

also just to give you an idea of what they look like before you download them

Sorry to ask but I tried to install media flow and last fm last night I found that they didn't install into nightingale with the feed back telling me that they were not compatable with 1.8
I tried 3 0r 4 versions of each add-on but kept getting the same message.
In Nightingale, I've gotten the video player to play just about any file I throw at it, but it refuses to play files that do not end in ".ogv". Is there any way to get Nightingale to import all files regardless of extensions?
I was wondering if Nightingale will be willing to use ALSA? I hope so!!! I've disabled PulseAudio in Ubuntu 10.10 in order to get Skype 2.1.0.81 to use my Logitech ClearChat USB Headset, and have found that I have to use Songbird 1.4.3 (unless I'm doing something wrong) because Songbird 1.8.0 refuses to use ALSA to play mp3's.
I don't think that it matters if the artwork is perfect, or if all re-branding is complete before an alpha version is released, this is what LibreOffice appears to be doing. Maybe a series of Alpha releases till the icons and such are complete, followed by Beta releases till the theme/feather(s) is(are) completed. Release candidates then could be based on O.S. integration because Nightingale wishes to support Microsoft, OS X, and Solaris and GNU/Linux.
I have not been able to follow this community thru the web-site problems, and because of other things, but I looked at the code tracing on sf.net and I am not sure if the project's goals include altering the code outside of re-branding. If it does not then, is it just installers, packaging, art, themes, feathers, layout, integration? It that is so then maybe it is time to start pushing out Alpha releases.
