If the brown nightingale and the branch could be seen (i.e. not their shadows), it would be a very interesting logo. A more yellow sun would be great too.

Hi guys,

the one from ledzepp is very good. but i think the one from paradox is much better.

otherwise i think its good when you provide more than one icon-design

marc :-)

I agree whit paradox when he said that simplicity is a important aspect when designing a logo.

I think, the mockups I posted could work fine as a logo and also as an icon, that's why I've been trying to keep them simple. Maybe its a bit different from the original ones, but its kind of a mix.

I don´t know how much time do we have, but I still would like to see more logos and hear more ideas.

Ok I am going to have to get this wrapped up, I think we have had a tremendous amount of input. I am going to create one last forum, this forum will have only people post an entry for a logo from what came out of Round 2.

After each entry is posted I will lock down the thread, I will then post a poll for us to select the entry from the final round that meets our needs.

Our needs:
1. We need an application icon that fits well with the Linux desktops (gnome, kde, xfce, lxde, etc). Keep in mind the different places this application will go (ie panels, menus, desktop, docky, awn etc.)
2. We need that same application available in sizes from 16x16 to 512x512.
3. It should represent a default colour scheme, I am thinking purples, browns and blacks like what we have for the web page.
4. This logo should be easily adaptable to what ever we need, web page logo, stickers, shirts, etc.
5. The Nightingale Project will have permission to use this logo as needed.

Thank you all for your enthusiasm, lets get this wrapped up and rock this new bird!
