Yes, the moon is very subtle but I can make it a bit stronger. But it shouldn't pop too much as it would catch all the viewers attention which ought to belong to the bird.

I've updated the draft. Made the moon a little darker and the note little more plastic.

Hi, I am the designer of the original draft, and I like too much what you've done with the logo, great work. I think the choose of colors are very good. But what about a more agresive eyes, here's my propose: ![]() (10-17-2010, 03:56 AM)Ezekiel000 Wrote: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amarok_%28wolf%29 I agree with you. #24? The Amarok Wolf?
![]() @downward Birds have round eyes and you don't see their white. That's why I didn't make it that aggressive. But yeah, we don't have to stick to realism. If the others like it as well I could make the eyes more aggressive but I think your draft looks a bit too maleficent, doesn't it? Maybe something in between would suffice.

Either number 23, 24, LedZepps or Mankos10. All of them are good. And for the background (The moon), I think it is just nice to have it. Just look at Firefox or Thunderbird, they both and many more applications have it and it works. They are a bit more integrated into the animal in the logo but still.
I just wonder why someone can set a stop for this thread sometime and put up a poll or something?
Firefox's and Thunderbird's logos don't have backgrounds.
What I meant with background is this: This draft has a black background with stars and therefore it's not scalable at all. In this case "scalable" means that you can use this logo in any environment. Backgrounds are not part of the logo. Surely logos can be placed on backgrounds but they're not part of the logo itself. The moon of course is also some sort of backdrop but it's a closed area.

It don't really, but you see the earth. It is a kind of background with the fox around it. It was a bad example, so just forget it.
If you mean the stars, I agree with you. I thought you meant the moon, which I think is an important part of the logo's Btw, anyone heard anything from Matt-SD or some other of the administrators here? I haven't really heard anything from them in some time here on the forums. I haven't been on the IRC though Edit: I have another thought about these logos. Many of them are pretty dark, and may be hard to see in some envoriments. For example, I often use darkt themes for my desktop envoriemnt, and I have problems to find icons for Songbird, Iceweasel and so on sinve the either are to dark or got to many simmilar colours or have to many details. I am not sure how the icons in this thread will act, but I think some of them may have problems like that. Just keep in in you minds, it is not to be to hard but I only wan't to find Nightingale on the taskbar ![]()
In different sizes (256, 128, 64, 32, 16 pixels @ 72ppi) on a white and a black background.

I like this one.

I would rather use a bright feathered one. More like a glow. I think I'll post a draft later this day. Here on a black background with glow. Very subtle but effective.
