Hi,

I've added some items into my library and now I am experiencing crash when I select "library" for syncing. I am using a clean install, only plugin i've got is last.fm.

The crash report is attached.

What can I do to debug the problem? It seems to be working fine if I only select a single playlist. My library has 37GB.

Real debugging could help, however if you could do that you were probably not asking. To produce a debug build, use the flag [code}--enable-debug=yes[/code]

I'm not sure on how to read mac crashlogs. From what NG is doing when you click the library, I'd guess you have one or more entry in your library causing troubles, which is not contained in the playlists you tried. freaktechnik seemed to remember filesystem issues of Songbird with Mac OS, so maybe you have entries without a regular file attached (symlinked, no file at all, different file system, etc.) causing the error?

Thank you! To clarify, the crash does not happen at the moment when I click Library - it happens when I click Sync and the library is selected.

Just to clarify, please confirm if I understood you correctly:

Case 1: Library not yet selected in Synchronization Panel:
  1. Open Nightingale, startup somewhere outside the synchronization panel, for example in the Library or a playlist
  2. Click synchronizarion in the service pane
  3. Select library node within the synchronizartion panel.
And that works without issues (correct total size displayed in the synchronization panel). Now, leading to case 2:
  1. Leave the synchronization panel, causing the library node selection to get saved
  2. Click synchronization in the service pane
And then NG crashes.

Exactly - the size is calculated correctly and NG takes some time in the "preparing" phase after clicking the sync button, then a crash follows.

Seems like my assumptions were wrong, then. To reproduce the bug it is important that the steps I listed are equal to any actions you took to reproduce the issue. If you click the sync button at any stage, it must get included into the list!

Can you please port a corrected version of the list? List every single click, every single typed letter, etc., as I proposed it for a different scenario. That helps me to become better at guessing what the issue could be Wink

The "correction" on DB-level (for sure not as planned by the developers) might not have reached all "wrong" locations, etc. Or could it be related to the larger number of items (although I think 14k items is not a large Library)? Or even both?

Iirc fixing the stuff on DB level should work. If it is listed correctly in the file location column (right click the column header and choose to display it), the sync code should get the correct URIs.

I cannot exclude any reason, but to troubleshoot: have you opened the error console by chance? If so, were there messages popping up before Nightingale crashed?
