./../../music/song.mp3

When it should just be ../music/song.mp3. I don't know why it's doing this.

Imho, the relative paths are correct, as starting from /music/playlists:
Code:
./ -> /music/playlists
./../ -> /music
./../../ -> /
./../../music/ -> /music
./../../music/song.mp3 -> /music/song.mp3
which is in the music folder. Playlists are relative to their folder, and not to the folder of the music. If specified /music as target folder, I get "./../song.mp3"-Paths, which are a bit nicer. Maybe some surrounding settings included the /music folder, but in theory your paths should work just as good as mine.

What is not working with these playlists?

Well, They're empty on my Android phone. However, they worked fine before when I had a 32gb micro SD card.

I upgraded to a 64gb card and my playlists are empty, Android Media Scanner isn't reading the ID3 tags on the mp3s, but I think this is related to the sd card and not nightingale.

Since you pointed out that the paths should be correct, I can probably rule out Nightingale as the problem here.

thanks for your help.

It was because I didn't install the Avahi Apple Bonjour compatibility library. I'm a dummy.

These playlists are not compatible with this, you have to create this again on this because the pattern is always being different in every app. The nightingale has his own pattern.

I posted this at 779Media, the Songbird Remote site:

Quote:when I try to install the Nightingale remote addon I get this message:

"SongbirdRemote (from 779Media)" could not be installed because it is not compatible with your Nightingale build type (Linux_x86_64-gcc3). Please contact the author of this item about the problem.

I'm running Nightingale in Linux Mint 15 (64bit) with Cinnamon . In case it might help I installed the Avahi Apple Bonjour compatibility library. I've got the remote on my Android phone.

Any Ideas? It would be great if this worked, as there is no adequate Linux based remote for Android.

They replied as follows:
Quote:I haven't posted the 32 bit version, and it shouldn't be that hard to build a 64 bit version. The Nightingale guys need to give me access so I can post it. post your email and a I can send you a pre-release

Can it happen?

Access to what? To the add-on site? For that, he should register on the wiki and request edits rights for that account (contact GeekShadow). If there are core changes needed, everyone can fork our repositories at github and fill a pull request for changes.

The same problem here when I try to install the Nightingale remote addon I get this message:

Seems nobody posted the 64 bit version for Linux Ubuntu. So what can we do? if 64 bit version doesnt exist. Uninstall 64 bit ver and install the 32bit vers? I dont understand why u guys behind nightingale didnt gave so big importance for linux version, I thought this player was first time released on linux, because it have many things like addons and and is very similar with itunes...linux is the only system that didnt support itunes and nightingale is the best alternative player for itunes, windows have itunes, mac osx have itunes, why dont u give better support for linux? on nightingale addons page u have android remote addon for win and Mac osX for Linux...not have. This is not the only problem, i had installed this player on windows and its working better, have better support, when i start the app a nice splash appear, on linux dont...just a little corner from it...ok thats not big deal...but what its so important is the itunes library...u dont have any support or info for linux about that...i mean u have the option to import itunes library...but didnt workd well...becouse all songs are offline...are not linked with the files...because the itunes library its writed in windows and have another type of paths...I tried to edit the paths of songs with the linux path in itunes library but seems still are not in link with the song files. I solved at last this problem with the info's from itunes with the manual way, i had exported the playlists in itunes as m3u and imported in nightingale...rating and playcounts it solved with a rating addon...for those people who whants details about recovery info from itunes i can tell them step by step. Would be verry nice if nightingale team will make some automated way to do that, or a addon, script or something like that...to read and modify the itunes library to work with Linux.
Thank you and sorry for any english mistake, im not a native engl speaker.

The SongbirdRemote add-on is not developed by us, it is developed by a separate company (779Media), and the guys there do not provide a 64-bit version afaik.

I cannot see where Nightingale's linux experience is worse than on other platforms? The linux version has some exclusive features (system libraries for example), and should otherwise perform as the windows version.

The splash screen you mentioned is not to make Nightingale look nice - it was added because Nightingale tends to be really slow while starting up on windows, so there should be some "notification" for the user to see that Nightingale is currently starting up in the background.

I personally do not use iTunes (although I'm mostly on windows), as I personally do not consider it as useable software. It does not fullfill my needs and is from one of the worst companies (compatibility-wise) worldwide, thus not interoperating smoothly with the rest of my setup. So I cannot really comment on any iTunes im- or export, but if you figured something out and wish to share that, feel free to encance our wiki!

I have the same problem - "SongbirdRemote (from 779Media)" could not be installed because it is not compatible with your Nightingale build type (Linux_x86_64-gcc3). Please contact the author of this item about the problem.

Please send the addon 64 bit version to my email mihmike@gmail.com
if u cant posted here...or someone who knows to port that addon to 64 bit vers. (or another way to install this in Ubuntu 64 bit) or someone who knows any way to sync nightingale player in linux with android smartphones
Thanks,
