Hi.

I received a Philips GoGear SA2VBE MP4 player from my dear loving spouse this xmas. Crappy thing about it is its tied to Songbird, and I want to be able to sync it without being a b!tch to the large corporate OS v7 that I still have to use right now.
I didn't have the heart to return the unit. She took the time to find something for me, so now I'll take the time to make it work the way I want it to.

I'm hoping Nightingale fits the bill, and I'm looking forward to some digital freedom. I'd like to hear more "how'd ya git here" stories while we wait for alpha.

Cheers!
Useful as it is under everyday circumstances to say that the world exists “out there” independent of us, that view can no longer be upheld.

Sadly the extension of Songbird made for the Philips devices was closed Source. You're better off using the Philips branded Songbird version for now, if it still includes the extension (which I hope it does, as Philips still lists it as the official software).

Yes, but it is available only under windows. And i don't use this software. Such a sad thing. Anyway, thank you for the answer.

It's obvious, thanks. By i paid money for that to easily avoid from it. I can't let them steal my money from my pocket. So i forced their player to be controllable under linux with my bash script. Damn them in philips and microsoft.
