Nope, it's not going to happens, since first Songbird's version were based of VLC and it was consuming more ram than GStreamer. Future version of Nightingale may be based on GStreamer with HTML backend just like Mozilla does with audio API.

It should be fixed there. About the conversion stuff: if you have an idea how to implement that in a platform-independent way, we can discuss an integration into the existing synchronization feature; or you can code a device add-on from scratch. Either way, feel free to ask if you need help or information ![]()

Like a partneship or, build some service new to store music on cloud I don't know would be best for you to start a new project, like a cloud service, from ZERO, but, if you could could be a REVOLUCIONARY. The P.O.T.I close their door today becouse they don't build a product that fight IQUAL to Itunes, Winamp, windows Media Player and Spotfy. TAKE A LOOK= blog.songbirdnest.com/you-gotta-know-when-to-fold-em/ I think you need, at moment, RESOLVE THE UBUNTU/DEBIAN REPOSITORY After that, this could be too much easy... However I personally think we should focus on the core player, and once that is stable we can think about building cloud-related add-ons. Focussing on cloud stuff is a bad idea imho, especially until our codebase is ported to recent libs.

+1
We have the idea of making addons to support a unified library between various cloud services and local music eventually, but that happens once our deps are up to date. |
