It makes sense to have one for Windows and possibly Mac at the least. On Linux, I'm quite happy with Rubyripper (frontend for cdparanoia), but if I could get the same quality (and set the drive's offsets, etc) for flacs, I'd not be opposed to an addon.

It's a usability thing.

OK, Making some progress here. I have a button in a Service Pane that opens a ripper (you can open anything you like I think) of your choosing. Haven't figured out how to trigger it inserting a CD/DVD yet?????

I'm not really sure what else I need to do as the ripping happens external to NG. You get returned to NG when you have finished ripping. The only thing that I can think of to improve it is to open the window in the actual Service Pane area that is not being used. I'll work on that one over the next week or two.

Yeah I had a look. As far as I can figure out it calls freac with some built in parameters.

I really wanted to try and give users an option as to what they used as their ripper too.

OK, Had a more detailed review of what's there. I'll have a go at translating it to English - might play with a locale if I can figure out how they work - and see if I can actually make it run.
