I am happy to present to you Ubuntu Unity Integration add-on for Nightingale and Songbird. Now it supports only integration into Sound Menu and is in beta state. Feel free to test and please tell me what do you think (I've tested a little on Ubuntu 12.04).

On GitHub: https://github.com/FreeleX/UnityIntegration
Direct download link: https://github.com/FreeleX/UnityIntegrat...latest.xpi (but please check README on GitHub).

P.S: I cannot post to blog, so decided to make thread here. Sorry if this is wrong place. Also I think it would be good if every add-on for Nightingale could have own thread on Nightingale add-ons subforum Smile

Creating Threads in the Add-on subforum is not restricted currently, so you should be able to post there?!
If you want, I can move this thread, too.

Well, that's pretty cool. Mind adding it to the wiki? Our ubuntu users will be happy!

We'll have to put this in the firstrun addon suggestions box...

[moved]. We plan to auto-add threads here for each add-on once featherweight is working Smile

I've tried it but couldn't manage to make it work on Ubuntu 12.04 64bit.
I've downloaded the add-on linked on github, added the add-on to nightingale and checked the readme on github as well.
I have no 'TryExec=' line, and on 'Exec=' if I put the path to nightingale (/usr/share/... etc.) ngale won't open at all.
I've loged off and on, restarted but no sign of ngale on the loudspeaker menu.
What did I do wrong?
(NG is using the ppa from trebelnik-stefina)

You don't need to edit .desktop file if your NG was installed from ppa. Revert .desktop file to it's original state.
I haven't tested on 64bit system, maybe something needs to be changed.

Please do:
1. Enable add-ons error reporting by creating following variable in about:config

javascript.options.showInConsole = true
nglayout.debug.disable_xul_cache = true
browser.dom.window.dump.enabled = true
javascript.options.strict = true
extensions.logging.enabled = true

2. Restart Nightingale, Go to Tools - Error console - Errors, and post here all errors you see.

If add-on is working you should see Nightingale in the sound menu with three buttons (play, next, previous).

Version jumped to 1.1.2

New:
------
* Updated README with 'first time using' and build instructions, please re-read https://raw.github.com/FreeleX/UnityInte...ter/README
* Fixed scope resolution bug in main script
* Changed lock from timeout to flag and add-on will update message instead of creating new one (this improves fast track change notifications)

P.S: Does anyone need Nightingale to be in the tray (I can try to incude this) ? If yes, what menu would you like to see on tray icon click?
