I had to modify some files, but I managed to get Playlist Export Tool v2 0.9.5 to work. You can see the instructions here. I've attached it below in the unlikely event someone else needs it. Extract the directory into extensions.
I also tried using songbirdDbTools v0.2, but it doesn't like the latest version of my db. It likes the previous dbs left behind from updates.

With the next major OSX release dropping the support for 32bit apps, is there anyone out there who would compile 64bit binaries for Mac?
At some point I might try to do that myself, but with no real experience in doing so it may be something too much for myself. I'm just wondering if someone may have the relevant tooling in place on their machine and could do it in few hours instead of the few weeks it may take me to figure everything.
There is a few years old commit here that says: "Allow Mac 64-bit architecture to build", which means to me at some point someone has done or at least tried to do it.]]>false2017-11-09T11:37:39Z2017-11-09T11:37:39Z//forum.getnightingale.com/thread-2326.html
I have downloaded the program, executed and configured everything.
I have two big problems:
- I can't import anything. I have tried everything. I go to File &t Import Media &t (choose folder) ... and nothing happens. The folder has a lot of songs.
- I can't play anything. I go to File &t Open file &t (choose file) ... and then I see the question "What should Nightingale do with this file?"
The software: Nightingale 1.12.1
My system: KDE Neon 5.11.3
Thanks in advance!

I know there is a thread from a few years ago about playing M4A files, but the advice there is to install Quicktime. And since then, from what I can tell, there basically IS no more current Quicktime install. If you go to Apple's Quicktime site, they say
"QuickTime 7 for Windows is no longer supported by Apple. New versions of Windows since 2009 have included support for the key media formats, such as H.264 and AAC, that QuickTime 7 enabled. All current Windows web browsers support video without the need for browser plug-ins. "
I actually had Quicktime on my old laptop, and Nightingale couldn't play many M4A files. It seems like it isn't the most popular format but I'm seeing more of it recently. Any thoughts on how to make it work in the post-Quicktime era?]]>false2016-09-28T11:22:18Z2016-09-28T11:22:18Z//forum.getnightingale.com/thread-1498.html

I tried increasing the playback buffer with no results. I don't want to try to build nightingale myself atm. Any other ideas?]]>false2016-07-24T01:56:25Z2016-07-24T01:56:25Z//forum.getnightingale.com/thread-1484.html
Thanks for this great tool.
I'm a very new user and have unfortunalty a very basic issue (I probably miss something obvious).
Sorry in advance ...
In fact, each time I try to move a song in the playlist window on the right (with drag and drop), a new entry is well created for the song at the target position but the selected song al0os keeps its initial position (=&t song duplicated at 2 different positions)
This behaviour makes me crasy and I can not take time to delete the initial entry each time I want to move a song in the play list ...
Sorry again for this dummy question but your help will be REALLY great (birthday of the brother this evening)
Thanks a lot in advance for your help

I have even gone back to mp3s I tagged with Nightingale previously, to edit the comment, and when I do this it truncates the field and I can't put it back the way it was.
Why has this happened, and how do I put it back the way it was? Thanks.]]>false2016-06-18T09:14:04Z2016-06-18T09:14:04Z//forum.getnightingale.com/thread-1482.html
Despite offering some nice new features, version 1.12.2 (or 1.13?) never got released.
Is Nightingale dead?]]>false2016-05-26T06:08:37Z2016-05-26T06:08:37Z//forum.getnightingale.com/thread-1473.html
I'm using Nightingale 1.12.1 on Windows 7 (64 bit) and want to export my playlists to Linux based computers. I have already tried the AddOn "Playlist Export" and a modified version I already used in Songbird.
The problem is that the resulting paths in the export files in Nightingale are completely in lower case letters. That is no problem on Windows, because the title m:\musik\abba\angel eyes.mp3 is found in Windows when it is M:\Musik\Abba\Angel eyes.mp3 in reality. But in linux /media/Musik/musik/abba/angel eyes.mp3 can't be found when it is /media/Musik/Musik/Abba/Angel eyes.mp3 in reality.
I have playlists with several hundreds of entries and the folder structure of my music files is the same in Windows and in Linux.
Exporting in Songbird worked with capital letters but in Nightingale it doesn't. So I compared the modified versions of the playlist export addon, that I'm using in Songbird and Nightingale with Winmerge. But there wasn't any. So there might be a difference in the databases where the results are fetched?
Has anybody a way to get playlists with capital letters? I already tried to import the playlist in VLC (Windows) and export it again. But you only get capital letters if you play every song of the list first...
Best regards,
Stefan]]>false2016-05-18T01:56:05Z2016-05-18T01:56:05Z//forum.getnightingale.com/thread-1472.html
I was really hoping this would have been fixed by now. Maybe it's something that hasn't come up before? Is there any way of preventing it?
This is the station I'm specifically having trouble with: http://themushroomkingdom.net/wtmk.shtml]]>false2016-05-09T09:48:49Z2016-05-09T09:48:49Z//forum.getnightingale.com/thread-1470.html
I also removed spam-looking homepages from some users without any posts, which did not have any obvious spam content in their profile besides the homepage link; I did not yet purge them (but recorded my action in the mod comment field).
Bottom line: we should review newly added users periodically. Or are there better options to prevent the spam in the first place?]]>false2016-05-04T23:42:06Z2016-05-04T23:42:06Z//forum.getnightingale.com/thread-1468.html

Dear developper could you update the PPA with it.

I also have the mp3 decoder 'lame' installed. Yet, nightingale still states that the mp3 decoder cannot be found.
Can someone help?]]>false2016-04-09T14:18:48Z2016-04-09T14:18:48Z//forum.getnightingale.com/thread-1459.html
I've been happily using Nightingale, and Songbird before it, on Windows for many years. I've just installed the latest Linux version on a box running Xubuntu 14.04 (Trusty Tahr). I copied my music collection over from Windows using a network share, and Nightingale works fine except for one problem. The cover art doesn't show up. When I open one of the mp3 files using vlc, or any of the linux media players, the cover art shows up, just as it does on Windows.
Is this a known problem, and is there a workaround? It's more of an annoyance than a real fault, but it would be nice to be able to see the album covers. Thanks in advance for any advice.]]>false2016-04-02T17:26:19Z2016-04-02T17:27:13Z//forum.getnightingale.com/thread-1458.html
