Nightinale is installed on computer "A" and the watched folder points to server "B", (a sftp mounted folder)
This creates a huge traffic on my local network (some files are in flac format).
The question is: Can Nightingale use some sort of cache (as Spotify does), so i do not have to download the music from the server B every time I want to listen music?????
if the response is "yes", how??
Thank you very much.]]>false2014-07-15T07:00:29Z2014-07-15T07:00:29Z//forum.getnightingale.com/thread-1222.html

As probably most users, I have my music library organised in folders under a toplevel library directory. Artists (or composers) of whom I have multiple albums tend to get stored in album-specific folders under a common folder under the root, etc. I also have folders that are more akin to playlists, for music that has things in common not so easily captured under the other classifiers.
When I'm under Windows, I use Foobar2000 as my player, with its Column browser as the main interface. I do the same with Nightingale, to the extent that's possible. From left to right, I have Genre, Artist, Composer and Album columns. What I'm missing is Foobar2000's option to have a 5th column listing the enclosing folders, which flattens out the folder structure in my library.
I haven't found to what extent the SBProperties class is able to export such a property (except that it's already embedded in the "File Location" property), but either way it'd be great if one could select something like the enclosing folder among the options the Customise Filter Pane extension provides.]]>false2014-06-12T07:24:54Z2014-06-12T07:25:36Z//forum.getnightingale.com/thread-1152.html
First of all, tnx developers for this great music manager. Only to inform, Lydb.com seems down. Instead, Letras.terra.com.br can pretty find every song i search, also non-so-popular-bands (and it was the only one), BTW, NaG display only first lines. If there's a way to fix this it would be great!
It would be nice to see such an addon. ]]>false2014-02-16T17:18:49Z2014-02-16T17:18:49Z//forum.getnightingale.com/thread-986.html

Does Nightingale use a different code for their panes than Songbird? I've also tried porting Music Recommendations and Last.fm sidebar, with the same results.]]>false2012-07-28T00:58:45Z2012-07-28T00:58:45Z//forum.getnightingale.com/thread-563.htmlfalse2012-07-12T17:10:01Z2012-07-12T17:13:10Z//forum.getnightingale.com/thread-548.html

I am an undergraduate CS major, and I would be happy to start this project-- if it is not beyond my ability. Thoughts?]]>false2012-05-11T19:58:15Z2012-05-11T19:58:15Z//forum.getnightingale.com/thread-511.htmlfalse2012-03-26T11:59:43Z2012-03-26T12:17:18Z//forum.getnightingale.com/thread-480.html
For my first post, i'd like to show to you what i did with the songbird's add-on "Album view". It's an old add-on wich is not updated since 2 years but personnaly i think it's a very good add-on !
So i ported it to nightingale and i modded it. Now it looks like the default feather of Nightingale !
Unfortunaly, this add-on is so old and i'm not a dev, so it was impossible for me to make it work perfectly ! so the playlist don't want to be show !!
So the list of modifications i did :
Add a shadow under the cover
The color of the title of the album and the autor is changed
Modification of the selection border
french language is the only language !
Default size of the cover set to 250px
So this is the default theme of the add-on :
and my modifications (click to see at the right size) :
So if you want to see it in action in Nightingale, here's the link to download it !
