As far as testing your new theme you can un-jar and then re-jar the coppery.jar archive using the "jar" command. When you have a theme that you are happy with and want to post to the add-ons page, look at the existing themes and try figure out what you need to do. If you run into any issues feel free to ask for help.

@'Timmythepirate
I've no idea what that all that un-jar and re-jar stuff means. I'm on Windows 7 and have managed to find a file called coppery.jar in C:\program Files (x86)\Nightingale\chrome\coppery.jar. It seems to be in a plain text format as I can open and edit in Notepad++.

The file is littered with rgb(000,000,000) type references. I can probably figure out what colour the existing numbers relate to by googleing them. I assume that the copper colour that you refer to has a rgb number so it would be good to know what it is to get started, If there isn't one defined then I'll guess or try and work it out by dumping the icon into Gimp or some other editor.
Ha! Figured out how to deal with .jar files (I think). If I open and extract using 7zip I get lots of files that I can edit using Notepad++ or something similar, one assumes that this is what as meant by "un-jar"? One also assumes that if I zip it all up again this is the equivalent to "re-jar"? Now if I wasn't overwhelmed by the sheer number of places to look for colours I might be able to figure out how this all works.

You can actually modify the jar files without extracting them. I think it's easier, but either way is fine.

Well, I managed to modify the colors and images, to look coppery, but I don't know what to think of it.
EDIT: I'm going to hold off on posting this to the addons page, until after I get feedback.

Found it thanks. It looks pretty good in orange. maybe it can replace the default blue coppery one that is packaged with NG or at least be packaged as an option

@SteveW I will post this to the addons page for anyone to use in the next few days, first I'm going to go through the theme and check to see if there is anything that needs changing. Whether or not to include this feather as a default option would be a decision for one of the developers.

@timmythepirate
nice work but be sure to match colors here :
http://wiki.getnightingale.com/lib/exe/f...export.png

also I'm sure there are some parts still blueish like playback buttons Wink

If you want to be helpful, you should hang on our irc channel, and also fork nightingale to contribute directly on GitHub Smile

OK, I have checked the work done on Piasa, but there is still some work to do :
- Colors to be rectified
- Some parts are still blue

I have started to work on Coppery too, you can check my work on GitHub :
https://github.com/GeekShadow/nightingal...ngale-1.11

And be sure to use/base your work on Janek (Manko10) design :

Some items, such as the play buttons were left blue, because I thought they looked funny in orange. Also, I tried to find a copy of the original proposal, but I couldn't find it. Piasa isn't as good as it could be, at least partly because I have no Photoshop or art/design skills. I'll try to take a look at what you've done and see if I can be of some help. At the very least I'll try to create a feather that looks more like the mockup.
